	Trigger Guard is owned and operated by Mike Yoder, who is a life long resident of Wellington and Sumner County, Kansas. Married with four children and 2 grandchildren, Mike has 30 years experience as a Police/SWAT firearms instructor and is an accomplished competitive shooter. Professional Bio: I joined the Sumner County Sheriff's Department in May of 1978 working as a jailer and Reserve Deputy. In October of 1979 I left the Sheriff's Department and went to work for the Wellington Police Department as a Patrolman. I graduated the 62nd Basic Class at the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center ( KLETC ) in 1980 and in 1981 returned to KLETC to certify as a NRA Police Firearms Instructor. I was then assigned to the position of firearms instructor for the Wellington Police Department. In 1983 I returned to work for the Sumner County Sheriff Department, where I was assigned as Range Master and Firearms Instructor. During my 33 years in service with the Sheriff's Office, I have served under seven different Sheriff's and was Undersheriff for three of them. I am currently the Operations Captain in charge of the patrol division and training for the Sheriff's department. Over the years I have taught hundreds of officers to be proficient with not only their handguns but with rifle and shotgun's as well. . In 1997 I started the Sumner County SWAT Team. Since the beginning of this team I have been the SWAT Commander and Firearms Instructor. The team has expanded and is now the Southern Kansas SWAT Team, a Multi-jurisdictional team with 25 members from 8 departments. I am still SWAT Commander and teach handgun and rifle skills to not only our team but to SWAT teams and Officers in surrounding counties.
